Chris Carragher, known professionally as Chris Caggs, is a veteran Australian Radio DJ, Music Programmer, and Podcaster with nearly 30 years in the industry. His journey began in July 1998 with Pump FM 99.3 Sydney—Australia’s first Hip Hop & RnB community station—where he co-hosted alongside Mista-C. The station later evolved into Dance Radio 99.3FM and then Dance FM 94.5FM, pioneering genre-specific programming in Sydney’s urban radio scene.

Chris became a permanent on-air resident across 16 stations and syndicated to over 200 via the Community Radio Network (ComRad Satellite). His voice and programming shaped the sound of DJ-FM 87.6 Sydney CBD, Groove FM 94.5/96.9 Sydney, and Groove FM 97.3 Brisbane, where he hosted breakfast shows and curated music programming.

He’s collaborated with media icons including Andrew G (Channel [V], The Bachelor), Bessie Bardot, Rene Rivkin, DJ Nino Brown, Georgina Reed, Sam Boutros, Natasha Zuvela (MTV), Yvette Duncan (MTV), and Zoe Naylor (MTV). His work contributed to Universal Music’s Groove FM compilation, a top seller at HMV Australia’s Queen Street Mall store.

Chris’s influence spans genres—RnB, Hip Hop, Dance, EDM—and cities: from Sydney to Stockholm, Auckland to Rome. He’s toured all Australian capitals, New Zealand, and 26 countries worldwide, building a global audience through stations like:

While Chris met and connected with key figures behind Melbourne’s Kiss FM Dance Music Australia—such as Timmy Byrne and Phil K—he was not employed by the station. His respect for their work and shared passion for dance music helped foster creative exchange across cities.

Today, Chris continues to champion emerging sounds and artists through ShakeDown Radio—a globally accessible mix show blending RnB, Hip Hop, Dance, and EDM. His legacy is one of connection, innovation, and cultural celebration.
